The Franciscan Sisters of the Poor Foundation provides a beacon of hope to the lives of the sick and poor people. Fostering a commitment to nurturing the dignity and empowerment of all people, the Foundation was created in 1984 to support the programs and institutions sponsored by the Sisters. Our aim is to generate resources and provide funding to over 25 programs in the US and internationally, that shelter, support, educate and empower poor and marginalized people so they can live a life of independence and respect. The Sisters have their "feet on the street," working directly with the people they serve, developing promising solutions that best fit a population's greatest need. The Sisters' efforts target the following priorities: health, economic development, women's empowerment, spiritual guidance, education, poverty and hunger.100% of all contributions are used directly to support the work of the Sisters. The Foundation welcomes donations in support of the Sisters' many programs.
